Death toll in Nepal surpasses 550, over 1,500 missing; relief and rescue operations continue

The devastating floods and landslides in the Bhotekoshi River in Nepal have so far claimed 587 lives, with over 1,500 missing. Prime Minister Balen Shah has inspected the affected areas. Rescue teams are continuing their operations. The Nepal government has directed the preparation of relief and rehabilitation packages for the affected people.
